Both teams lost all their games in the tournament. This match – one of the teams was supposed to win. The Germans quickly in 4 min opened the score, but the Latvians managed to get the equalizer, and short after the second one to make it 2-1. In the second period the Germans score their second goal on 2-2 and in the game there was more struggling, shots from the distance and long runs. In the last period it seemed that both teams want nothing but the overtime. Then the Latvians, after a rapid attack, in the struggle in front of the German goal – 30 seconds before the end of the game – scored the winning goal.
